PRESIDENT GETS ACQUAINTED WITH COURSE OF ANNIVERSARIES' PREPARATION


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The State Head Ts.Elbegdorj got acquainted Wednesday with a course of the preparation for historical anniversaries that are marked this year.
They are the 2,220th anniversary of the First State of Mongolia, the 805th anniversary of the Great Mongolian State, the 100th anniversary of the National Freedom Revolution that restored the independence, the 90th anniversary of the People's Revolution, and the 50th anniversary of Mongolia to join the United Nations (UN).
The President has heard a report given by the Deputy Premier, then shared views with D.Battulga, a head of the Presidential Office; Yo.Otgonbayar, a Minister of Education, Culture and Science; L.Gantomor MP; G.Monkhbayar, a Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city; R.Bold and L.Purevsuren, advisors to the President; B.Enkhtuvshin, president of the Academy of Sciences; and other officials.
M.Enkhbold has said that for the 100th anniversary of the Revolution of National Freedom some 20 works have been launched, including a ceremonial meeting of the State Great Khural, a concert of honor, the 10th international session of Mongolists, trips to historical sites. Expected are also special stamps issue, essay writing contest among pupils and students, scientific conference themed “Capital Khuree and Independence of Mongolia: Religious figures”.
For the 2,200th anniversary, 30 measures will be organized by a special commission at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
The President has put his proposals to the national committees and a working group. He has mentioned about his decree issued October 15, 2010 on marking the 2,220th anniversary of the First State of Mongolia, and criticized some media for wrong definition of the 2,220th anniversary,"It is not the Hunnic Empire, it is the anniversary of the First State of Mongolia".
The President has considered as necessity to invite all people with Mongolian blood to the National Festival events such as horse races, national wrestling and archery, and to mark such Festival every three years. He has underlined the working group must run intensive and quality works. He has added that wide measures “Mongolians on Horse”, “Mongolian script”, “Mongolian ger”, “Mongolian arts”, “Mongolian dresses” and “Mongolian cuisine” may be organized July 1-10, 2011 on the Sukhbaatar square.
Then he has emphasized that it is important not to leave without attention and care Mongolia's citizens who are abroad.
