FINANCE VICE MINISTER MEETS NOELEEN HEYZER

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mrs. Noeleen Heyzer, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP), has met the Vice minister of Finance, Ch.Gankhuyag.
The two have exchanged opinions on a collaboration between Mongolia and the UN Economic and Social commission for Asia and Pacific relations. The vice minister has thanked her for many projects and programmes implemented in Mongolia by ESCAP, for example, in boosting mineral resources sector, creating a land locked developing countries' International survey center in Ulaanbaatar, and in other spheres.
In response, Mrs. Heyzer has said 50 years have passed since Mongolia became a member of the ESCAP. She has thanked the Mongolian side for initiating many resolutions and proposals and having them approved by the commission forum.
In the future, she said, the ESCAP will give many-sided support to Mongolia, for example, will involve Mongolians in information and communication technology traning for instructors, which will run in Central Asia.
