NSO'S HEAD MEETS U.S AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Head of the National Statistical Office (NSO) S.Mendsaikhan has received Mr. Jonathan S.Addleton, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the USA to Mongolia. Present at this meeting were G.Gerelt-Od, the NSO's first head; M.Ganchimeg, head of the NSO's Department of Foreign Relations and Cooperation; and Mrs. Susan Russell, an Environment, Science and Health Officer of the U.S Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.
S.Mendsaikhan has introduced to the Ambassador the NSO's activity, and then underlined importance of objective, urgent and reliable statistic news in times of quick changes of the world's socio-economic situation. He has expressed his willingness to cooperate with the USA, and put forward certain proposals to the U.S side in collaboration.
The NSO's head has reported that Mongolia plans to carry out an agricultural census in 2011 and wants to receive help from foreign countries. S.Mendsaikhan has said the NSO wants support from the ambassador for collaborating in refining upon the agricultural statistics and for involving NSO's experts in long, middle and short-term training organized in frames of the U.S non-refundable aid.
In response, Mr. Addleton has appreciated innovative works of the NSO, and then promised to contribute to developing the collaboration.
