BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ According to a report of the Bank of Mongolia, money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of March 2011, reached to MNT 4955.1 billion reflecting increases of MNT 87.7 billion or 1.8 per cent against the previous month; and MNT 1980.6 billion or 66.6 per cent against the previous year.
At the end of March 2011, currency issued in circulation reached MNT 531.1 billion increasing by MNT 56.6 billion or 11.9 per cent against the previous month; and by MNT 146.6 billion or 38.1 per cent compared to the same period of previous year. Loans outstanding at the end of March 2011 amounted to MNT 3730.8 billion, showing an increase by MNT 204.5 billion or 5.8 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 962.3 billion or 34.8 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Principals in arrears at the end of March 2011 reached MNT 80.5 billion reflecting decreases of MNT 32.1 billion or 28.5 per cent against the previous month; and MNT 72.9 billion or 47.5 per cent against the previous year.
At the end of March 2011, the non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 372.1 billion showing an increase of MNT 11.7 billion or 3.2 per cent against the previous month, and a decrease of MNT 59.7 billion or 13.8 per cent compared to the same period of the previous year.
In March 2011, there were 22 trading days and 10.4 million shares valued at MNT 13.7 billion were traded.
