Transport accessibility for disabled to be improved

MOSCOW, April 10 (Itar-Tass) -- An agreement on cooperation to improve
transport accessibility for the disables was signed by Russia's Society of
the Disabled, the Transaero Company, Domodedovo airport, and the
Association of Services for Passengers.
"The sides will join their efforts in design and implementation of
standards of services for the disabled," the document reads. They will
work out training programmes for aviation staff to work with handicapped
persons.
Participants in the agreement will have a "joint information base to
unite regulations and best international standards and practices in
serving the disabled," Transaero's Director General Olga Pleshakova said.
The sides will work out a special programme to train staff of aviation
companies and airports to serve the handicapped and to contact actively
enterprises of Russia's aviation transport to attract them to cooperation.
They will also initiate improvement of state supervision of requirements
for transport companies in serving the handicapped.
