Memo of Cultural Cooperation between Iraq and Azerbaijan concluded
Baghdad (NINA) – A Memo of Understanding in the field of culture between Iraq and Azerbaijan was signed in Baku on Saturday, Apr. 9.
The Memo was signed by Iraq's Undersecretary of Culture, Tahir al-Hmoud, and by Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Abulfas Garayev.
Signing the Memo came on the side of the International Forum on Dialogue between Civilizations concluded on Friday in Baku, attended by delegations representing world's countries, including Iraq.
In his speech on the occasion the Azeri Minister talked of historic friendship relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan describing signing the Memo as being an important step toward developing the relations between the two countries.
For his part, Iraq's Undersecretary of Culture expressed Iraq's keenness to consolidate relations with Azerbaijan that has deep rooted culture, stressing the Memo's importance.
