Maliki says that hand grenades discovered with Thursday's demonstrators
Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki announced that security forces discovered hand grenades with some demonstrators during Friday's demonstration.
In a speech at a celebration held on Saturday, Apr. 9 by Dawa Party on the anniversary of Mohammed Baqir al-Hakeem's murder, Maliki said, "Those grenades intended to be used to accuse security agencies of attempting to attack demonstrators."
Maliki asserted his previous statements that Iraq is among the most stable countries in the region, pointing out to foreign and domestic attempts to destabilize Iraq.
President Jalal Talabani and a number of officials, as well as law makers attended the occasion.
