VP: GOVT GUARANTEES SUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF LPG IN 3-KG CONTAINERS
Bandung, W Java, Aug 29 (ANTARA)- Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the government was guaranteeing the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in 3-kg containers to meet the people's need after the recent increase in the prices of LPG in 12-kg and 50-kg containers to Rp69,000 and Rp362,750 from Rp63,000 to Rp343,900 respectively.
"We will meet the people's need, no matter how much. Don't worry," Kalla said on the sidelines of a visit to the Army's Weapon Industry (PT Pindad) here Friday.
Relating to the price increase of LPG in 12 kg and 50 kg containers which had prompted previous users to turn to buying 3 kg ones, the vice president said the government had anticipated the problem.
On the occasion, Kalla also said there would be no price hike for LPG in 3-kg containers.
"The price hike only applies to LPG in 12-kg and 50-kg containers which are consumed by middle-income families or firms," he said.
