Belgian Authority resumes financial allocation to Muslims
Brussels , August 29 , SPA --The Belgian authorities have decided
after several months of cutting financial allocations to the
Executive Council of Muslims in Belgium to resume pumping money, but
under regulatory conditions.
The government decision published in the Official Gazette today,
Friday, on the eve of the beginning of the Month of Ramadan to enable
the Council, which is the representative body of Muslim Belgians to
receive 150,000 euros from the federal government's budget.
It is noteworthy that the number of Muslim community in Belgium is
almost 400,000 mostly Turkish and Moroccan. However the Islamic
bodies have so far been unable to reach an elaborate virtual
representation of their interests and that recent years have
witnessed several interventions by the authorities in the affairs of
the organization of the Islamic Council for security reasons.
