CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ S.Byambatsogt, P.Altangerel, R.Amarjargal and D.Odbayar MPs have worked out a draft amendment to the laws on state service, education, and health, and a draft law on exemption of customs tax and VAT. The cabinet discussed them Wednesday and decided to inform the initiators about iitsd proposals.
- The cabinet backed a re-approval of a list of equipment and facilities for the small- and middle-sized productions to be exempted from the customs tax and VAT in accordance with the law on reducing air pollution of UB city.
- The cabinet considered as necessary to establish a memorandum of mutual understanding on reforming the standards and programs of primary and secondary education between the government of Mongolia and the International Testing Center of the University of Cambridge. A right to sign the memorandum has been given to Yo.Otgonbayar, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science.
- A draft amendment to the law on regions of protected areas, and related to it draft amendments were discussed. They will be submitted to the State Great Khural.
- A working group was set up in accordance with the cabinet decision having a responsibility to work out a draft agreement on the railway tariffs for freight to be established between the governments of Mongolia and Russia. This group also has a task to make negotiations with the Russian side.
