Kazakhstan pledges to keep domestic fuels & lubs prices lower than in

ASTANA, April 7 (Itar-Tass) -- Kazakhstan's Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev pledged on Thursday to keep domestic prices on fuels and lubricants lower than in Russia, although both countries are members of the Customs Union and seek establishing a common economic space.
"Ideally, prices on fuels and lubricants should be the same throughout the common economic space," the minister said at a session of the upper house of the country's parliament. "But there are certain mechanisms. On the domestic market as such, we can keep the prices by 10-13 percent less than in Russia."
According to Mynbayev, Kazakhstan will regulate its domestic prices on oil and oil products, including fuels and lubricants, by means of tax and excise duty policies.
