Talabani-Barzani hold expanded meeting
Erbil (NINA) – President of the Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, and Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, held expanded meeting Wednesday in Salahuddine Resort present by senior officials in the region and members of the political bureaus of PUK and KDP.
A source present at the meeting told NINA that “the meeting discussed status quo in Kurdistan in light of the demonstrations in Sulaymaniya and other cities.”
He added that “Talabani and Barzani discussed a paper submitted by the oppositions blocs (Taghier, Islamic Group, and Islamic Union) about the necessity of dismissing the Kurdistan government, respond to the demonstrators’ demands by ending corruption, conducting constitutional amendments, and start social reformation.” /End/
