MONGOLIA HOLDS MEETING ON STRENGTHENING NUCLEAR SECURITY
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Permanent Representative Office of Mongolia in the Vienna International Center (VIC) and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (DAV) co-organized Tuesday an open meeting on strengthening non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and promoting the nuclear weapon-free regions.
In the DAV, the meeting has attracted representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) members and specialists of several international organizations and the Research Institute of Austria. They have shared views on ways of strengthening the nuclear security at the new political condition and objective measures for non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. One of the participants, a former minister of foreign affairs of Austria Mr. Willibald P.Pahr exchanged views on the measures, He has added that was the very first foreign ministry of Western countries to visit Mongolia.
The gathered have discussed a strengthening of the nuclear weapon-free regions and establishing new regions.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Austria and the Representative to VIC Mr. J.Enkhsaikhan has given information on the external relations and policy of Mongolia and on its talks with the nuclear weapon states on strengthening the security of Mongolia with political and diplomatic methods.
