Activities organized throughout Thailand on Chakri Memorial Day

BANGKOK, April 6 (TNA) - Groups of people in all regions of Thailand organized activities to mark the Chakri Memorial Day on Wednesday, which falls on April 6 every year, to commemorate the contributions of Kings of the ruling Chakri Dynasty in founding and developing Rattanakosin, or Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

In the eastern province of Chanthaburi, the provincial governor led groups of people to place garlands in front of a portrait of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great to pay tribute and express gratitude to the great King who was the first King of the dynasty and contributed to the peaceful Thai society.

In the central province of Uthai Thani, people conducted a ceremony to worship the great King at the King’s monument. Cannons fired a salute to commemorate the great contributions by all the Kings of the Chakri Dynasty.

At the auditorium of the Sing Buri provincial administration, representatives of many organizations laid garlands in front of a portrait of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great. The Sing Buri governor read a statement in honor of the Chakri Dynasty renowned for maintaining peace and happiness in Thai society.

In the northeastern province of Roi Et, government officials, citizens, police and soldiers gathered to express gratitude and respect to the Chakri Dynasty.

Meanwhile, people in Buri Ram praised King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke the Great who according to historical evidence founded the province in 1778. The Chakri Day is a national holiday of Thailand. (TNA)
