800-km Grand Prix Sochi cycling race to begin Wed

SOCHI, April 6 (Itar-Tass) - An international Grand Prix Sochi cycling
race begins in Krasnodar Territory on Wednesday for a 57th time.
Over 150 finest cyclists from Russia, Germany, Serbia, Moldova,
Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan will take part in the race. They are to
cover more than 800 kilometres within five days.
The race consists of five stages: on the first day the sportsmen are
to ride for 176 km along the Krasnodar - Anapa route; on the second day
the cyclists are to ride for 131 km along Anapa roads. The cyclists are
then to cover 180 km from Novorossiisk to Nebug, and 170 km directly in
Nebug. A 163 km group ride Nebug-Krasnodar will be held in the concluding
stage.
The overall prize fund of he race is 22,500 euros, Yekaterina
Avetisyan, press secretary of the Cycling Federation of Russia, has told
Itar-Tass.
