Maliki-Barzani agreement that Kurds vote for any candidate for security ministries, says

Baghdad (NINA) – A source at the Parliament unveiled that an agreement between Prime Minister, Nouri Al Maliki, and Kurdish President Masoud Barzani, provides that the Kurds vote for any candidate submitted by Maliki for the security ministries, especially Ministry of Defense.

The source, which declined to be identified, told NINA Tuesday that “in this case, Maliki can choose any candidate for the MOD, even if that candidate was not approved by Iraqiya Slate, since the Kurdish Alliance and National Alliance votes will be enough to pass him.”
