Thai Ministry of Transport gives 2 million baht aid to Japan
BANGKOK, April 5 (TNA) - Transport Minister Sopon Zarum delivered donations worth 2 million baht to Seiji Kojima, Japanese Ambassador to Thailand, as part of Thailand’s assistance to victims of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Transport also donated nearly 3.8 million baht to assist flood victims in 10 southern Thai provinces, where several roads have been cut off by severe floods.
The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority has also arranged to send 2 trucks carrying 1,000 sets of necessities for distribution to people in Nakhon Si Thammarat’s Nopphitam District and to Surat Thani Air Force Base area 7, to alleviate people’s suffering. (TNA)
