Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry hails Pakistan, India Premiers talks


Karachi, April 04, 2011 (PPI): President India Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry S M Muneer hailed talks between Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India at Mohali.

He hailed decision of Prime Minster Yusuf Raza Gilani to accept invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to watch semi final of Cricket World Cup between Pakistan and India at Mohali. He lauded outcome of cricket match in terms of fruitful dialogue between two Prime Ministers, he added.

Muneer said invitation and its acceptance gave positive sign that Pakistan, India have genuine desire to promote bilateral trade. Whole world saw two Prime Ministers watched cricket match giving great hope to both countries who want to be bound in ties of friendship. Presence of Congress Party President Mrs Sonia Gandhi on the occasion was also sign that Congress Party is also behind their Prime Minister in the endeavour.

He urged both countries to make bilateral trade, economic ties their top agenda so that poverty in both countries could be minimized. India Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry is determined to bring business community of both countries more close so that interaction could be further developed leading to trade and economic ties. Both countries should ease visa regulations for businessmen in particular and common public in general.

He felt cricket diplomacy renewed diplomatic relations which will lead to peace, tranquillity between two countries. He also lauded talks between Home Secretaries of two countries who agreed to set up a "hotline" on terror threats to facilitate real time information sharing with respect to terrorist threats.
