Russia's deputy premier stresses importance of 2011 election
NEW YORK, April 5 (Itar-Tass) - Forthcoming parliamentary election in
Russia will have especial significance, visiting Russian Deputy Prime
Minister Sergei Ivanov said here Monday as he addressed a meeting of the
Council of Foreign Relations /CFR/.
As he mentioned the presidential election due next year, he said: "I
meet with the President /Dmitry Medvedev/ and the Prime Minister /Vladimir
Putin/ quite frequently but I'm afraid I'll disappoint you: I didn't
discuss the elections with them a single time."
"In fact, I think it's too early yet to discuss the election-related
issues but the parliamentary election this fall will have paramount
importance in this sense and will furnish us with many tips," Ivanov said
