Indian Muslims take out protest march against atrocities in Libya, Bahrain

New Delhi, April 4, IRNA – Thousands of Indian Muslims, along with 200 Religious Scholars, took out a protest march against atrocities in Libya and Bahrain, in Lucknow, capital city of Uttar Pradesh state.
Expressing anger at the ongoing situation in Libya and Bahrain, thousands of Indian Muslims, mainly Shias, under the banner of Majlis-e-Ullama-e-Hind, took out a protest march from Maqbara Sadat Ali Khan to Imambara Shah Najaf, in main city of Lucknow.
The protesters, carrying play cards and banners against US, NATO forces and Saudi Arabia, expressed their solidarity with the people of Bahrain and Libya and raised a voice against the atrocities against peaceful demonstrations in those countries.
Denouncing the US-led attack on Libya and Saudi Arabia's onslaught on Bahrain, the protestors raised slogans against the US and Saudi Forces, branding them as killer of innocents.
Earlier, addressing the protesters, a prominent Shia Scholar, Maulana Syed Kalbe Jawwad Naqavi, General Secretary of Majlis-e-Ullama-e-Hind said: 'The innocent Muslims of Libya and Bahrain are facing atrocities which is a cause of concern for us.”
Condemning their dual policies Shia Scholar warned them for the atrocities committed by them in the region.
Beside Jawwad, Maulana Ayub Ashraf, President All India Mohammadi Mission, Mufti Maulana Abul Irfan Firangi Mahali, Shaher Qazi Lucknow, Maulana Fazlul Rehman, Friday Prayer leader, Tile Wali Masjid, Lucknow and Syed Mohsin Taqavi, Friday Prayer leader, Masjid-e-Shiian, Kashmiri Gate, Delhi, also addressed the protestors.
They, in once voice strongly condemned the Saudi Arabian interference in Bahrain and killing of innocents in Libya by NATO forces. They also urged Muslims to unite against these satanic powers.
Later-on a 12 point memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister of India was submitted to the District Magistrate in Lucknow.
Demanding the improper intervention by Saudi Arab and other Persian Gulf countries in Bahrain and NATO forces intervention in Libya should be ended, the memorandum requested from Government of India to take urgent measures in order that people in all the Arab countries including Bahrain, Libya and Yemen get their rights and peace is set up.
The memorandum also demanded from UN that a democratic set-up should be established in Arab countries and the people should be given their rights./end
