Swiss festival awards Iranian movie “Please Don’t Disturb”
TEHRAN, April 4 (MNA) -- The Iranian film “Please Don’t Disturb” brought first international award for Iranian cinema at the beginning of the Iranian New Year at the Fribourg International Film Festival.
Directed by Mohsen Abdolvahab, the film won the special jury award at the festival, which was held from March 19 to 26 in Switzerland.
The jury members recognized the film for the award because of its “precision and gentleness of its gaze, for a camera with the correct distance and for the liquid story of ordinary people in Tehran today”.
As the festival’s website announced, the award is bestowed by the International Jury for “inventiveness in script and directing, for renewal of cinematographic language or for thematic and formal audacity”.
The 2010 tri-segmented Iranian social drama, “Please Do Not Disturb” is set in contemporary Tehran and portrays city life in three distinctive episodes with sentiment, sensitivity and wit
