Ukraine warship to start evacuation of Ukrainians working in Libya

KIEV, April 4 (Itar-Tass) -- The Ukrainian Konstantin Olshansky big landing ship will drop the anchor at the passenger terminal of the Tripoli international seaport and will launch the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens working in Libya on Monday, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Sunday.
The Foreign Ministry appealed again to all Ukrainian citizens staying in Libya to take advantage of an opportunity provided and to leave Libya. They should inform the Ukrainian Embassy in Tripoli about their decision.
The Ukrainian diplomats have informed 827 Ukrainian citizens about an opportunity for evacuation so far. The embassy keeps making up the list of Ukrainian citizens and foreigners, who want to leave Libya onboard the Konstantin Olshansky big landing ship. The Ukrainian naval headquarters reported that the warship, which is still anchored in the neutral waters, will take onboard Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian citizens, as well as citizens from other countries and will head for the Malta Island. The big landing ship will leave the foreigners on the island, will replenish the fuel and water supplies there and will head for Sevastopol, where she is
to arrive by the end of the next week.
The Foreign Ministry noted that 514 Ukrainian citizens had already
been evacuated from Libya in February and March. According to unofficial reports, from 2,500 to 3,000 Ukrainian citizens can stay in Libya.
