Terrorists kill four police officers in west Iran

MARIVAN, Iran, April 3 (MNA) -- Four Iranian police officers were killed in a terrorist attack in the city of Marivan in the western province of Kordestan on Saturday.

In the terrorist attack unidentified gunmen opened fire on a border police station, killing four police officers and injuring two others.

The attack happened at around 2 a.m. local time.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdollahi has said that probably PEJAK (the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan) was involved in the attack.

The dead officers were Pejman Zamani, Milad Qobadi, Soleiman Zare’i, and Kazem Abedi whose funeral processions were held on Sunday.

Saman Pishdad and Saeed Chobderazi were also injured in the terrorist incident.
