Football team can pass preliminary qualifications for World Cup, says coach
Baghdad (NINA) – German coach of the national football team, Sidka, said the national team enjoys techniques and abilities that enable it to pass preliminary qualifications for the 2014 World Cup.
Sidka told NINA that “the draw that was done in Malaysia put Iraq against Yemen on two matches; the first match on July 23rd, the second on July 28.”
He added that the Iraqi team performance on West Asian Cup in Jordan, Gulf Cup in Yemen, and the Asian Cup in Qatar showed that the Iraqi team is better than the Yemeni and that encourages us to think Iraq is capable of reaching next leg.
He pointed out that he agreed with the Iraqi Football Confederation to hold friendly matches with strong teams to develop the team.
