Nujeifi congratulates Chaldeans, Assyrians, and Syriac on the Akito feast
Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi Parliament Speaker, Osama Al Nujeifi, congratulated Iraqi Chaldeans, Assyrians, and Syriacs on the Babylonian Akito feast, Babylonian-Assyrian year, a statement by Nujeifi’s office stated.
The statement added “Iraq guarantees now to all Iraqis their freedom and rights regardless of their ethnicity, religious, or sectarian affiliation. We cherish you as genuine citizens and equal partners in Iraq.”
Akito feast is Sumerian, moved to Acadians living in the Sumerian territories. The celebrations were done in the Great City of Babylon, where the main god, Merdoc, plays a main role.
