Thailand's SET index reaches new high in 15 years
BANGKOK, April 2 (TNA) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) composite index reached its highest level in 15 years this week--when it closed at 1,064.35 points on Friday, thanks to a buying spree of foreign investors.
The KASIKORNTHAI Research Centre (KRC) reported on Saturday that the SET index was 2.57 points higher than its closure last week and average turnover on the Thai bourse stood at 33.26 billion baht a day this week, from March 29-April 1, a 12.05 increase from last week.
The leading Bangkok-based private think tank said that the SET index should further rise next week, from April 4-8, if key US economic figures to be publicly announced in the coming days showed an improved trend of the American economy. (TNA)
