PLTU REMBANG'S 1ST UNIT 52 PCT COMPLETED
Semarang, C Java, Aug 27 (ANTARA) - The construction of the first unit of a thermal power plant (PLTU) in Rembang district, Central Java, has been 52 percent completed, a spokesman said.
The whole transmission networks of the PLTU's first unit were expected to be completed at the end of this year, the project's executive secretary, Soeriarso Suryo, said.
But he added the PLTU's first unit would start its full operation only in September 2009.
The project is one of the thermal power plants with a combined capacity of 10,000 megawatts the government builds to meet rising demand for electricity.
