President Zardari directs Interior Minister for steps against extortion in Karachi

Islamabad, March 31, 2011 (PPI): President Asif Ali Zardari taking notice on reports of extortion in Karachi Thursday directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take measures against this menace in coordination with Sindh government. He also directed for submission of detailed report in this rergard, it was officially stated.

A large number of shopkeepers of various markets in Karachi Thursday staged a protest demonstration against threats hurled to them by extortionist mafia. They closed shops and protested on roads, blocking main MA Jinnah Road by burning tyres and chanting slogans against extortionist mafia.
