Man stashed drugs inside BMW: police
AAP-April,1-Police have charged a Perth man after they allegedly discovered hundreds of grams of illicit drugs secretly attached to the steering column of his BMW.
The 31-year-old Wanneroo man was pulled over by police in Perth's northern suburbs earlier this month and following a search by officers, a large amount of cash was found in his pocket.
Although an initial search of the BMW sedan revealed nothing of interest it was taken to a holding yard.
After dismantling part of the car's interior, police allegedly found a small box fixed to the steering column by strong magnets.
Inside the box they allegedly found more than 170g of methylamphetamine, more than 90g of cocaine, and drug
paraphernalia.
Police later searched of the man's home in Wanneroo, where a further 200g of cocaine, about $12,000 in cash and a large number of smoking implements and other drug paraphernalia were allegedly found.
He has been charged with drug offences including two counts of possessing cocaine with the intent to sell or supply and one count of possessing methylamphetamine with the intent to sell or supply.
The man has also been charged with two counts of possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
He will face Joondalup Magistrates Court on April 14.
