Japan - largest importer of oil from port of Kozmino
VLADIVOSTOK, April 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's large oil port of Kozmino
near Nakhodka in the Far East shipped most of its oil to Japan.
Over the past three years the port's oil throughput comprised 3.6
million tonnes. Japan accounted for 28 percent of the volume, 17 percent
were sent to Thailand and the United States, 11 percent - to South Korea
and the Philippines, 8 percent - to China, 6 percent - to Singapore and 2
percent - to Indonesia.
In January-March the oil shipment of the port of Kozmino increased by
355,000 tonnes as against the same period of 2010, the port's press
service said on Friday.
In March four oil tankers left for the ports in southern Japan. Last
of them, The Esther Spirit, headed for Japan at night on March 31.
"Oil shipments from the port of Kozmino attract Japan with a short
distance, which considerably reduces supply time and costs," the deputy
head of the port's freight department, Dmitry Mudry, said. "Moreover, the
oil brand of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline system has high
quality characteristics."
In April the port of Kozmino plans to ship 1.3 million tonnes of oil
to the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region. The first tanker of the
Primorye Shipping Company is being loaded with oil to leave for the United
States.
The cargo shipment of all ports in the Nakhodka city district exceeded
50 million tonnes.
