US embassy denounces assault on Salahuddine PC
Baghdad (NINA) – US embassy in Baghdad denounced the assault on Salahuddine Provincial Council HQ which claimed the lives of dozens of people.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the embassy expressed deep sympathy with families of the victims, regarding the assault as an attack on democracy pillars that Iraqis are struggling to build.
The statement added “we are ready to assist the Iraqi government with any kind of assistance possible to guarantee bringing those groups or individuals behind this flagrant action to justice.”
Armed men broke in to Salahuddine PC and detained dozens of people as hostages, the security forces stormed the place, a matter that led to the death and injury of dozens of people.
