SOCAR prepares for completing gas extraction from gas storage facilities

SOCAR plans to close gas extraction from underground gas storage facilities in Azerbaijan till April 15, a source at SOCAR said.
"This process is planned to be completed till April 15," a source said.
He said that the residual gas is in underground storage facilities in Azerbaijan. It hits more than 1.63 billion cubic meters.
Roughly 744.43 million cubic meters of the total amount of residual gas fall to Garadagh underground gas storage facility and 619.5 million cubic meters - to Kalmaz underground gas storage facility.
At present, SOCAR extracts 12 million cubic meters of gas per day from the underground storage facilities of the country.
As a result of the end of pumping season gas volume in underground gas facilities in Azerbaijan amounted to 3.05 billion cubic meters. More than 1.13 billion cubic meters of the total amount of gas available in gas storage facilities remains from last year.
