SPEAKER WORKS IN LOCAL AREA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In frames of rural tour to Khovd aimag, the Parliament Speaker D.Demberel met Monday people of Altai soum, and then attended a ceremony to lay a foundation stone of a 110.8 km paved road.
The soum's people have asked the Speaker about the “Mongolian livestock” national program and shares of the “Tavan tolgoi” company, while the soum's authorities put a request to constructors to give the locals jobs involving them in the road construction.
The same day, the Speaker held a meeting with people of Uyench soum and visited a military unit.
On Tuesday, Mr Demberel got au fait with Yarant border checkpoint in Bulgan soum and met with its working group.
Accompanying the Speaker officials as G.Nyamdavaa, a governor of Khovd aimag, R.Sodkhuu, a head of the General Agency for Specialized Inspection and others have shared views and information with the group.
The Yarant border checkpoint is located 45 km far from Bulgan soum's center. In January of 2011, this checkpoint transmitted to the permanent regime. The officials want to make it international standard checkpoint and to install the latest lab.
For the time being, some 700 km paved road has been run from this checkpoint to a place named Ulaanbaishint. The working group's meeting also has discussed a matter on opening a new crossing to export coal through the Yarant.
The Speaker has talked with people of Bulgan soum, then, on Wednesday morning, visited there several organizations and headed to UB city winding up his tour.
