FINANCE MINISTER VISITS INDUSTRIES IN LOCAL AREA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A Minister of Finance, S.Bayartsogt visited “Bayangol” iron mine in Eruu soum during his tour to Selenge aimag last weekend.
The mine is owned by the ”Steel, iron, Eruu river” LLC which has been exploring and exploiting ore since 2004. At own money, the company has run 98 km long railway. "We employ some 700 workers, 270 of them came last year," a director of the
”Bayangol” mine, M.Ganbaatar says. "Unfortunately, there are not professional workers among them,” he added.
As calculated, the mine's reserves stand at 100 million ton of iron. The works may continue 60 years if to work with current capability, Ganbaatar says.
Meeting with locals, the Minister said that in times of the mining boost youth can acquire sophisticated professions, not necessarily high education, in order to earn nice money working on mines.
Next leg was “Bugant-Od” timber company in Euruu soum. It has 50 workers, 80 percent of them are women. The company put into use two workshops last year, says its director V.Buyandorj adding they have bee improving types and quality of their products.
The Minister Bayartsogt advised him to install the latest technology and give value added final products.
