MONGOLIA WANTS TO HOST SUMO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's Federation of Amateur Sumo (MFAS) has sent an official request to the International Sumo Federation (ISF) to let host the Amateur Sumo Championships in Ulaanbaatar.
This year's world championships was to run November 12-13 in Alexandria city, Egypt, in men and women's events but have been cancelled due to a domestic problem. For this reason several countries want to organize the championships and some had already sent their proposals.
The ISF has not made a final decision yet. If Mongolia won the bid, Ulaanbaatar would organize the sumo world championships in September of 2011.
