Aafia detention perplexes rights activists
Karachi (PPI) - President Human Rights Network (HRN) Karachi Chapter Intikhab Alam Soori said that continuing detention of Dr Aafia Siddiqui in the USA is a matter of shame for whole nation and country and a burning question for human rights activists around the world
In his statement here on Tuesday, he said completion of eight years of Dr Aafia illegal detention is a matter of serious concern, he charged that the enslaved rulers had sold the daughter of the nation for a few dollars which is shameful for whole Ummah, especially Pakistanis.
He said that our rulers had failed to show courage and character on the issue of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. They did not take any serious effort for seeking her release and repatriation.
Soori recalled our government took pains in securing the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis, who was killer of innocent Pakistanis. He said that government could have demanded the release of Dr. Aafia for release of Raymond Davis.
He said that Dr. Aafia is languishing in US jail for a crime which she never committed. He said the illegal detention of Aafia has unveiled the true face of American justice system.
