Amber Necklace artfest concerts to be given in 5 countries.
KALININGRAD (Itar-Tass) - Eight cities in five Baltic
countries will welcome an Amber Necklace international art festival events
this year. The festival traditionally is to begin here at the end of
April, for a 25th time already.
People's Artist of Russia Viktor Bobkov, director of the Kaliningrad
Region philharmonic society, which has been the main organizer of the
festival throughout the years, has told Itar-Tass, "The festival will run
for one month and a half, with conerts to be given by performing groups
and soloists in eight cities of Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Belarus, and
Russia".
"While pursuing its goal -- to strengthen international cultural
contacts by introducing the best Kaliningrad-based musicians and
performers in the westernmost Russian region's neighbouring countries, the
festival also aims to acquaint people in the region with everything
significant and interesting which has beeb created by domestic and foreign
art masters," Bobkov added,
The Amber Necklace international art festival will continue until June
10 and will become a delight for the lovers of high art, Bobkov maintains.
The festival has been organized under the auspices of the Russian
Ministry of Culture by the Kaliningrad Region government, and foreign
countries' diplomatic missions in Kaliningrad.
