Brazil's ex-VP Jose Alencar dies in Sao Paulo
RIO DE JANEIRO (Itar-Tass) - Jose Alencar Gomes da Silva, a
prominent Brazilian politician and former Vice-President of Brazil, died
in Sao Paulo on Tuesday at the age of 79.
Alencar, who held the position of Vice-President from 2003 to 2010,
also headed the Brazil-Russia High-Level Commission on Cooperation.
For more than a decade Alencar has been struggling for life, suffering
from a neoplastic disease and showing an example of courage and optimism
which he was retaining despite going through 17 surgical operations
