Curfew imposed on Tikrit

Tikrit (NINA) – Security authorities in Salah-Addeen province imposed on Tuesday, Mar. 29, a curfew on the city of Tikrit in response to storming the Provincial Council's building by group of gunmen.

Earlier a joint Iraqi-American force carried out an operation by storming the Provincial Council's building amid heavy fire.

It is noteworthy that earlier before noon gunmen in police uniform busts into the provincial council's building in downtown Tikrit after firing two mortar shell at the building.

Security source said that the gunmen clashed with the building's guards and detonated a car bomb at the building's entrance. / End.
