Arrangements being finalized for 32nd death anniversary of Z. A. Bhutto
Ratodero (PPI) - The District Government of Larkana has chalked out a detailed program to celebrate 32nd death anniversary of martyrdom of PPP founder and first elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in a befitting manner on 4th April at his final resting place in Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto (GKB).
Foolproof security arrangements for safety and comfort of the visitors expected to arrive from various corners of the country are also being made.
Party’s co-chairman & President Asif Zardari is also expected to participate in this event as usual. All TMOs of old Larkano division have been directed to deploy all their supporting & sanitation staff on 1st April amid complaints of unhygienic conditions in Naudero and its surroundings including GKB. Intensive patrolling would be carried out from 2nd to 5th April on all the routes leading to GKB/Naudero including deployment of Motorway police on main highways of NHA leading to Larkano to ensure smooth traffic, guidance and control of law & order especially in odd hours. Land previously used for parking on Banguldero-GKB and Ratodero-GKB road would be utilized for the purpose.
Proper lighting arrangements would also be made at these parking places. Traffic SPs of Karachi will be called for preparing traffic plan well before time and ensure smooth flow of vehicles during the event. A route plan for general public will also be prepared and in case of emergency an alternate traffic plan would also be chalked out. Sign Boards indicating routes would be fixed at all crossings, turns and diversions. Tokens would be issued for parking vehicles by the police. Bomb disposal squad would remain deployed at GKB from 2nd to 5th April.
At least 10 walk through gates would be installed including close circuit TV cameras. More than 8000 policemen, Rangers personnel would perform security duties besides other law enforcement agencies. Press/Media personnel would be given a separate place for live coverage. Empty containers and 50 Jersey barriers would be placed at the designated spots. Camps would be established inside the mausoleum ground.
Four standby generators would be provided to ensure uninterrupted power supply at President Camp House, GKB and Circuit House Larkana. Emergency shall be declared in Chandka Medical College Hospital, Larkana during 2-5th April under which no leave would be granted to any of the employee. Medical camps would be established throughout Sindh on all the routes from where the PPP workers’ caravans would pass.
A cage around graves of Bhutto leaders with pipes would be erected to save them from disgrace due to rush. Plantation of flowers would also be carried out. Vehicle Lifters would be arranged from Karachi & Hyderabad and at least ten tractors would be arranged having front blade which will be used for rescue & touching purposes to remove or shift out of order vehicles from routes & parking areas. Inner Cordon passes would be issued for PPP office bearers, notables, workers coming from other districts including Larkana.
