Hashimi affirms that he might do as Abdul Mehdi did if voting on Vice President post does not take place

Baghdad (NINA) – Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi said, "I understand Adel Abdul Mehdi withdrawing his nomination to the post of Vice Presidnet, I might do the same if unjustified blackmail does not end and soon a voting on the post takes place; before me more than one choice to serve my country."

In a statement on Monday, Mar. 28, to NINA, Hashimi added, "Delay in naming Vice President is not justified; it prevented vice presidents from performing their tasks while the country is badly in need for their efforts at such hard times."

He pointed out that in previous occasions he affirmed that some are manipulating the state to serve a party or a political entity that led to delay in naming vice presidents.

Hashimi went on saying, "The problem within the National Alliance has been moved into the state to bear its consequences, officially and financially, while all call for economizing in spending."

As for what has been published in the daily news paper 'al- Mada', that he unconstitutionally assumed the post of Vice President. Hashimi responded by saying that such charge does not change the facts; he said, "My time is so precious and I will not waste it in responding or arguing, my schedule is full with beneficial items." / End.
