58th Railways Athletic commences
LAHORE (PPI) - Multan’s Zainab grabbed gold in 800 M Women final with two minutes, 34.37 seconds as 58th Pakistan Railways Divisional Athletics Championship 2011 commenced at Railway Stadium.
The two day event was opened by Shahid Hussain Raja, Secretary/Chairman Railways today and took salute / March Past from the 350 men and women athletes of the Railway’s nine divisions
Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Workshops, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi, Quetta and Railway Police in the presence of Saeed Iqbal Khan, Vice President/PRSB, Rana Abrar Ahmad, Secretary/PRSB and other high official of Pakistan Railways. Pakistan Railways Sports Board (PRSB)’s Sports Officer Rashad Mehmood Butt other PRSB’s office-bearers, Divisional Sports Officers and Welfare Inspector Sports of all Divisions were also present on this occasion The ongoing Pakistan Railways Divisional Athletics Championship 2011 will be arranged in befitting manner. Railway Minister, GM Railways are very serious about sports promotion in Railway and they are doing their best to enhance activity of sports with likable packages for the players. They want the return of standard of sports in Railways same as was in past when Railway was nursery and thousand of players from this organization went on to wear national colour, said Shahid.
Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Federal Minister for Railways, will be chief guest during concluding ceremony on 26 March (2.30 PM) and will distribute trophies, certificates, medals to the teams and individuals.
