AKUMC lifts AKU Cricket tourney title
Islamabad (PPI) - Aga Khan University Medical College (AKUMC) retained the title of the 9th AKU All Karachi Medical College T-20 Cricket Tournament for the fifth consecutive time after recording an eight-wicket win over Baqai Medical University (BMU) here Thursday at AKU Sports Centre ground.
BMU batted first in the final match and scored 171-9 in allotted 20 overs. Ibrahim (34no) and Hasan (34) batted well for the side. Moiz captured a three-wicket haul for AKUMC.
AKUMC in their turn achieved the required total easily with eight wickets in hand and more that three overs to spare. Israr-ul-Haq batted brilliantly for the victors and played an explosive and unbeaten 92-run knock at a strike rate of 200. He smashed 13 boundaries and three sixes in his impressive inning. Syed Siddiquallah (67no) also batted well for the winners.
