US man held at Sydney airport over cocaine
(AAP) - An American man has been charged after allegedly being caught with 3kg of cocaine hidden inside the lining of his suitcase at Sydney Airport.
The 21-year-old was arrested after stepping off a flight from Los Angeles on Sunday, the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service said in a statement.
Customs officers allegedly found the drug, said to be worth $1.5 million, after sniffer dogs gave a positive indication to the man's suitcase.
Tests were being carried out to confirm the exact weight and purity of the substance.
The man was charged with importing a commercial quantity of cocaine.
