Iraqiya stresses necessity for nominees to security ministers to win national consensus

Baghdad (NINA) – At the end of its leaders' meeting on Sunday evening, Mar. 27, Iraqiya slate stressed necessity for nominees to security ministers to win national consensus.

In a statement to NINA, spokesman for Iraqiya, Hayder al-Mulla said, "Iraqiya issued an announcement asserting that it is withdrawing the nomination of Khalid Mit'ib al-Ubaidi for Minister of Defence and will keep the other four, Tha'ir al-Naqeeb, Salem Dalli, Sahir al-Naqeeb and Hesham al-Jobouri."

He added, "Iraqiya presented a number of nominees so a national consensus on one of them can be reached, but it has not received yet the National Alliance's nominee for Minister of Interior."

Earlier in the evening, Iraqiya leaders held a meeting in the house of Tariq al-Hashimi. It was attended, in addition to Tariq al-Hashimi, by Iyad Allawi, Saleh al-Mutlaq, and Hayder al-Mulla, in addition to other leaders. / End.
