Barham Saleh, Gen. Perkins discuss political situation in Iraq including Kurdistan

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister of Kurdistan region, Barham Saleh, discussed with Commander of American Forces in northern Iraq, General Pierre Perkins, the situation in Iraq, including Kurdistan.

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) web site said on Sunday, Mar. 27, that the two discussed cooperation and coordination between American forces and the Peshmerga to keep peace in the area.

It added, "Both sides agreed on the necessity to consolidate security and military relations, as well as the American forces' support to the Peshmerga toward establishing a unified official Kurdish force." / End.
