Baillieu congratulates O'Farrell
AAP-March,27-Victorian Premier Ted Baillieu issued a warning and a congratulation to his newly elected NSW counterpart Barry O'Farrell on Sunday.
Mr Baillieu, whose state Liberal Party won power from Labor late last year, said Mr O'Farrell had done a magnificent job.
"He set a plan, he's been very disciplined, he's a thoroughly decent man, he's got an agenda and I think it's a terrific reflection on him," Mr Baillieu said.
The Victorian premier said the Liberal victory in NSW also demonstrated the choices available to the Australian people.
"There's a simple message here for all Australians - that there is a very viable and sensible alternative to the Labor Party," he said.
While Mr Baillieu was full of praise for Mr O'Farrell, he sent a message to keep his hands off Victoria's major events, such as Sunday's Formula One Grand Prix.
"Like all other states I'm sure they're keen to have a bit of what Victoria's got," he said.
"But we're also very keen to maintain our competitive advantages in this state."
