Krasnoyarsk to attract over 127B roubles for wood processing

KRASNOYARSK, March 27 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian and foreign investors
will allocate about 127 billion roubles in the Krasnoyarsk Territory's
existing wood processing complexes.
"They are the project of the Yenisey plywood plant, the Novo-Yenisey
chemical wood plant and others," the Territory's Ministr of Natural
Resourses and Forest Complex Elena Vavilova said.
The projects "will introduce thousands of new jobs, will raise the
share of wood processing in the local GDP and will raise the budget
long-term revenues by 18 billion roubles."
With the support of the regional government over the crisis period,
the local forest industry has been developing steadily.
"In 2010, we produced by ten percent more that in 2009, and the
Krasnoyarsk Territory is a leader in the Siberian Federal District in this
sector," she said.
In late March, Governor Lev Kuznetsov told the St. Petersburg meeting
on forest sector about the importance of effective management, environment
protection and wood compensations.
"With the territory's experience in extinguishing wildfires we may
participate in an interregional fire guard centre," he said, adding it
necessary to improve the situation with prevention and extinguishing of
wild fires in national parks.
