YEREVAN, March 27 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian-Armenian strategic
partnership continues to deepen and strengthen following contacts of the
presidents, meetings and visits at different levels, Armenia's President
Serzh Sargsyan said welcoming the State Duma's delegation of friendship
with Armenia and representatives of the Young Guard of the United Russia
Party on Saturday, who had come to visit the football game between the two
countries.
"Interparliamentary cooperation plays important role in the
strengthening of the cooperation between Armenia and Russia," he said. "A
big role belongs to the deputies' groups of friendship."
"We should have this friendship transferred to our youth, from
generation to generation, like our older generation did in their time,"
Sargsyan said.
He said that he appreciated their "everyday efforts to strengthen
friendship between the two countries and peoples."
"It is nice that the visit of the parliamentarians coincided with the
football game between national teams of the two countries," he told Russia'
s delegation before the game. Sargsyan expressed confidence that "the game
will be a holiday of friendship."
"it is important that all sports events become holidays of friendship,
and today's game will be one of them," he said. "No doubt, you shall
