Nearly 50 Thai provinces hit by drought
BANGKOK, March 26 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Interior's Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation declared on Saturday 354 districts of 47 provinces across the country drought disaster zones, a swift increase from 333 districts of 45 provinces it declared two days ago.
The department's director-general, Wibul Sanguanpong, said that of the total drought-hit Thai provinces, 17 of them are in the North, 15 in the Northeast, seven in the East, five in Central Region and three in the South. (TNA)
